Toaster's Treats Sponsors United States Army 27th Infantry Wolfhounds: A Partnership Built on Service, Honor, and Gratitude.

U.S Army Infantry Motto: "I am the Infantry. I am my country's strength in war, her deterent in peace. I am the heart of the fight, wherever, whenever."

Service is one of the core missions of what we do here at Toaster’s Treats; serving our furry friends with high quality, all-natural treats, supporting non-profit rescues, children’s organizations and veteran organizations far and wide. If you’ve ever held a bag of Toaster’s Treats, you’ll see a small American Flag on the bottom with the words “Veteran-owned & operated” referring to Toaster’s Treats founder and President, Steven Bursky, who is a combat veteran who served our country in the U.S. Army as an infantryman and reconnaissance scout. He deployed to Tikrit, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn with the Army’s 25th Infantry Division as a member of the Recon & Sniper Platoon of 1/27th Infantry Regiment “Wolfhounds."

Not only was Steven’s time in the service instrumental to his motivation and leadership that paved the way to starting Toaster’s Treats, it was also where the values of service, duty and selflessness were instilled in him, which trickle into every aspect of the work he is doing today; and for that, we are proud to announce Toaster’s Treats first sponsorship of a military working dog - one that is personally symbolic to Steven, and that is first of hopefully many.

Kolchak XVII is a Russian Borzoi, and the official mascot of the 27th Infantry Regiment, out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The famed 27th Infantry Regiment has a proud history dating back to 1901.  The regiment earned its nickname in 1918 when they deployed to Vladivostok, Siberia as part of the Allied Expeditionary Force. Their mission was to guard the Trans-Siberian Railroad, which often resulted in combat with communist Bolsheviks. Due to their aggressive pursuit of retreating Bolshevik forces, the enemy called them "The Wolfhounds", a name which has since become a symbol of bravery and strength for the United States Army.

Over a decade after Steven’s honorable discharge from the Army, he felt it important to reconnect with his unit, and continue his service in the manner he could to an organization that had such a powerful impact on his life. Toaster’s Treats is committed to providing Kolchak XVII and every Kolchak to follow, with all-natural, healthy treats that will keep him feeling his best. Our treats are made with wholesome ingredients, free from artificial preservatives, colors and flavors, and are carefully crafted to provide optimal nutrition and taste, indefinitely. This sponsorship is a symbolic gesture in reconnecting with his unit, and to show his deep respect and admiration for the dedicated soldiers who actively serve in the unit today.

This past November, Sergeant Gill Hayon, a veteran of the elite 1/27 Recon & Sniper Platoon and Steven’s longtime friend whom he met while serving with the Wolfhounds embarked on a mission to the home of the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. On behalf of Toaster’s Treats, Sergeant Hayon delivered a supply of Toaster's Treats all-natural dog treats to Kolchak XVII, marking the first iteration of the cherished mascot’s sponsorship.

“NEC ASPERA TERRENT” is the motto of the Wolfhounds. The Latin phrase has been translated in various ways including No Fear On Earth, Frightened by no difficulties, and Difficulties Be Damned.

We would like to thank Sgt. Hart and Sgt. Strothers, Kolchak XVII’s handlers, for their hospitality and correspondence in making this sponsorship happen. We appreciate your dedication to our historical unit, and to our beloved mascot.
